Super Bowl XLVI

February 11, 2012

On Sunday, February 5, the city of  Indianapolis did something it never thought it would get the chance to do–host a Super Bowl.

Indianapolis didn’t just host the Super Bowl, we blew everyone away and set the bar high (can you tell I’m a bit biased?). Indy was, by far, the best Super Bowl host city the NFL had ever seen! Working one block away from Super Bowl village certainly had its perks. I was in front of the action all week long.  I’m not going to dive into all the greatness that Indy provided–just too much to name–but I did have a chance to capture pictures from the week. From the Super Bowl Media Party, to the zipline, to the Maxim Party, hamster wheels and more; it was a week I’ll never forget. I even got a shot of THE Herm Edwards. Be sure to check out the pictures, as well as this Indianapolis Super Bowl time-lapsed video.

Have you buzzfunneled?

January 30, 2012

In case you haven’t heard, Indianapolis is hosting Super Bowl XLVI!! To capture all the event action, Borshoff created buzzfunnel.me, a single, integrated social media site featuring event experiences from the fan perspective. We hope to connect people from around the world and offer them an inside look of Indianapolis and the big game!

The Borshoff crew has been going out in street teams to capture tons of video footage that has then funneled to the site. People can also upload their own videos to YouTube or Vimeo and tag with “buzzfunnel.” Tweets from @buzzfunnelme stream live to the site, as do tweets using the following hashtags: #SuperBowl, #SB46, #Social46 and #buzzfunnel.

To read more about buzzfunnel, check out this Borshoff blog or follow @buzzfunnelme on Twitter.

Oh yeah–and check out the SITE!

Have a Super, Super Bowl

February 5, 2011

Last year, I watched in heartbreak as the New Orleans Saints stomped the Colts in Super Bowl XLIV. This year, unfortunately, I won’t be seeing Peyton out on the field. Instead, I, along with more than 106 million people (according to Nielsen Co.), will be watching for the love of the game. According to my dad, this viewing number surpasses the 1983 finale of “M*A*S*H” becoming the most-watched program in U.S. television history. Awesome. Thanks Dad.

Anyways! This Sunday, I will be watching the Super Bowl with friends, and although I won’t be rooting for the home team, there are several things I am excited about:

  • Commercials. Need I say more? If you are not watching for the teams playing, you are watching for the ads! Personally, I always enjoy the Budweiser commercials or even the funny Snickers commercials—like last year’s Betty White ad—classic. What will be “the big one” this year?
  • Black Eyed Peas. I’ve always been a fan! It will be nice to see a half-time show band under the age of 35 performing on stage. After Janet J’s fiasco, we’ve seen the acts of The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Who, etc. Don’t get me wrong, these groups helped define what rock is today. But the NFL has been playing it safe. It’s about time we got a sexy female back up there. Fergie is my girl. I hope to hear some Boom Boom Pow.
  • Social drinking. Nothing beats a casual beer on a Sunday afternoon with friends. Bud Light Lime all the way!
  • Food. Add a great appetizer to that drink and you’ve got yourself a party. Whether it’s guacamole, mini wieners or meatballs, I am always game for finger foods.
  • Camaraderie. I don’t want to get all sappy on you, but the best part about watching the Super Bowl is the company you watch it with. For the past three years, I have been watching with my boyfriend’s friends–who happen to be my friends too—who, ironically, date my friends too (you follow?) It’s always a great time and many LOL’s are achieved.

So who am I rooting for this Sunday? Let’s just say that I am not a Roethlisberger fan.

So, for all those PACK fans—a prayer for Sunday…

Aaron Rodgers, who art in Lambeau, Hallowed be thine arm. Thy bowl will come, it will be won, in Dallas as it was in Lambeau. Give us this Sunday our weekly win and forgive the less-passers as you will not let them pass against us. Lead us not into frustration, but deliver us from Steelers. For thine is the MVP, the best of the NFC, and the glory of the Cheeseheads, now and forever. Go get’em. Amen.

With that said…are you ready for some football?
